PRESS RELEASE (JULY 26 2010)

HUGH LAURIE SIGNS RECORD DEAL WITH WARNER MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT

HUGH LAURIE TO RECORD BLUES RECORD

Actor, writer and musician joins Warner Music Entertainment

Grammy winner Joe Henry to produce New Orleans blues album with mainstream appeal

26th July 2010, London - Hugh Laurie, the award-winning actor, writer, director and musician has signed a recorded music deal with Warner Music Entertainment (WME), an imprint of the Warner Music Group. Laurie is the star of Fox’s hit drama series ‘House’, the world’s most-watched TV show, a role which has garnered him two Golden Globes, the People's Choice and Teen Choice for Best Actor, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Television Critics Association Awards and five Emmy nominations.

The agreement will see Laurie release a New Orleans blues album, to be recorded this summer and autumn, and distributed worldwide by Warner Bros Records. He will collaborate with a range of vocal and musical talent on the record with the goal of producing an album with mainstream, international appeal. Joe Henry, the acclaimed two-time Grammy Award winner, will produce the album. Henry has worked with diverse artists such as Teddy Thompson, Solomon Burke, Ani Di Franco, Aimee Mann, Loudon Wainwright III, Elvis Costello and Allen Toussaint. His work on film scores includes ‘I’m Not There’ and ‘Knocked Up’ and he has co-written songs for Madonna and Madeleine Peyroux, amongst others.

Laurie, who has played piano for much of his life, is predominantly self-taught (after creative differences with his childhood teacher) and has sung, performed and written music throughout his career. He is actively involved in the musical content used on ‘House’ and his character Gregory House has played blues piano and guitar regularly on the programme. Hugh is also keyboardist in the ‘Band From TV’ charity group and most recently contributed to a track on Meat Loaf’s latest album, produced by Rob Cavallo.

Hugh Laurie said "I am drunk with excitement at this opportunity. I know the history of actors making music is a checkered one, but I promise no one will get hurt. I am particularly thrilled to be working with Joe Henry, who has produced some of my favourite records of all time, and I can't wait to get started."

Joe Henry said "All musicians are actors to begin with - our jobs being to embody characters and articulate stories for three and four minutes at a time. I've been a great fan of Hugh's work on screen, and believe purely that he is investing the same wit, intelligence and emotional generosity into his music."

Conrad Withey, President, Warner Music Entertainment said “I am a huge fan of all Hugh’s work and have enjoyed his musicianship on ‘House’ and in many other shows over the years. The world already knows how wonderfully versatile and talented Hugh is so this first album is an exciting opportunity to put the spotlight on his passion for New Orleans blues.

Hugh is exactly the kind of artist that WME enjoys working with. We look forward to building on the incredible success Hugh has had in ‘House’ with a music project that will establish Hugh at the top of his game in a new artistic arena.”

Jennifer Grey on House

Exclusive: Jennifer Grey makes a 'House' call by Michael Ausiello
No one puts Baby in a corner… except Gregory House.
Dirty Dancing‘s Jennifer Grey will find herself in a no-win situation when she guest stars on House this fall, sources confirm to me exclusively.
Grey—who begins work on the House set today—will play Abbey, the mother of an infant daughter who is displaying signs of a life-threatening illness. As House and Co. investigate her daughter’s developing symptoms, Abbey is faced with a treatment decision for her newborn that could not only affect her baby’s life but also her own.
Her episode is scheduled to air in mid-October.

FOX Promo: House Season 7 #03

So it's official... They had sex and probably had a shower session after.
*EDIT*
As I said in the comment below, sorry for the assumption and that's right, we really don't know if anything happened that night (oO that rhymed). The over joy and excitement got me imagining crazy shinanigans like sex... Pssh.

So some of you suggested that he did take they both had sex and a shower session together or took a shower then snuggled then made love after. What do you guys think? Leave your questions and comments below!

Comment to the previous post Spot The Difference (Season 7 Promo)

by @huddyitaly

I was talking with Samisa2, an Italian friend on Twitter but, since it's hard to write only few words to describe all we imagine, I asked her to talk here.

I preferred not to read other forums before to write to avoid to be affected by other comments.

I would also underline that we saw two identical promo but with different music. For me it's a hint. It means something but I don't know what: the words? or the music? In the first words are "Help me", hard not to think to the season 6 finale. In the new words are "C'mon c'mon c'mon c'mon". Don't know, maybe I'm watching in the wrong direction.

BTW, returning to previous post, I'll go on with the comment:

* The mirror is not on the tub anymore but next to it.
OK, we agree that one of them removed the frame of the mirror by the tub. But to do what? They both were dirty. House is injured. So, I don't know, Cuddy clean the tub by the pieces of the broken mirror and maybe help him to shower? *DANGEROUS*

* There are no more brown towels hanging on the rack.
My first question is: the person who wrote wanted to underline that the towels were two or the plural was just used randomly?

So, if the plural is correct, did they use the towels together or alone?

* Cuddy’s pink scrubs are folded on the heater.
If scrubs are folded then were posted specially there. No sexy strip-tease, then.

* Both Cuddy’s and House’s tennis shoes are on the floor.
Again, the shoes are there because they showered. But, together? At this point I think NO!

* House’s jacket is resting on the rug.
I don't know.

* A shred of natural light is coming from the bedroom indicating it’s morning.
In the last scene of "Help me" House's clock showed about 5 o'clock so, almost morning.

So, after this study, I think they had no sex in that occasion.

Don't know if this mean something but, as you see in the picture, the two floors are lightly different and the rug are 1 in the old, 2 in the new.

Also, David Shore in a recent interview said that not all it seems is what it seems.

Non so, magaris to guardando nella direzione sbagliata.

A te? A voi?

Staremo a vedere.

Spot The Difference (Season 7 Promo)

So I've seen this retweeted by our House peeps on Twitter and I gotta say this person is like my savior at the moment! She had pointed out some really good stuff that will make us so excited all over again!

House First Season 7 Teaser (video) via series.nu by Meg5

Finally! *SPOILER ALERT* After a couple of months left hanging, but happy, from the House season 6 finale, Help Me, FOX released a short teaser (conveniently and cleverly using the song ‘Help Me’ by Macy Gray which lyrics scream House and Cuddy) for the upcoming season 7 premiere, Thunder Roadtrip.

When the screen faded to black in May, the last shot was a powerful close-up of House (Hugh Laurie) and Cuddy’s (Lisa Edelstein) hands entwined, together at last, while continuing to kiss standing up against the wall of his bathroom. Cuddy had just shown up, still in the pink scrubs she had worn to the crane accident site and House had just thrown away his Vicodin, instead of relapsing, after such an eventful day. In an emotional and heartfelt scene that brought out nothing but openness and sincerity, Cuddy declared that she had broken her engagement to Lucas, unable to move on from House, and confessed that she loved him as screwed up as he admitted to be.

When we get back to the show in September, we can expect to pick up things where we left off based on the first seconds of the video below that provide a few glances inside House’s bathroom.

Let’s see what we have here:

* The mirror is not on the tub anymore but next to it.

* There are no more brown towels hanging on the rack.

* Cuddy’s pink scrubs are folded on the heater.

* Both Cuddy’s and House’s tennis shoes are on the floor.

* House’s jacket is resting on the rug.

* A shred of natural light is coming from the bedroom indicating it’s morning.

From the looks of it, I’m guessing Cuddy spent the night with House and they are now snuggled up together in his bed. But with House, there is always an unusual catch and appearances are often misleading.

At this point, I am just happy to sit back, ‘buckle up’ and enjoy this ‘bumpy road’ that Hugh Laurie mentioned in his Ausiello interview.

What do you guys think? Let me know your thoughts in the Comment area below.

Catch the new season of House, Monday, September 20 at 8/7c on FOX.

Hugh Laurie Sings For New Orleans Blues Album

Hugh Laurie to sing the blues via TheIndependent.co.uk

Hugh Laurie, better known for his acting roles in television programmes including Blackadder and House, is now turning his hand to a different trade by starting work on his debut album.

The actor has signed a deal to record a New Orleans blues album over the next few months. Laurie, 51, has written a number of the tracks himself and will be collaborating with guest musicians to create an album he hopes will have mainstream appeal.

"I am drunk with excitement at this opportunity. I know the history of actors making music is a chequered one, but promise no one will get hurt," he said.

What's Really Going on Behind the Scenes?

Drug, Sex, Homophobia Allegations on 'House' Set

via TMZ

Cocaine ... guns ... sex ... and knife play -- all part of life behind the scenes on the show "House M.D." ... this according to a new lawsuit filed by a bitter ex-employee.

In a lawsuit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, a former assistant prop master named Carl Jones claims he was fired from the show in March ... because he didn't go along with the "degenerate conduct" of his superiors.

In the suit, Jones claims he was harassed by two of his supervisors for refusing to engage in "visits to strip bars, participation in getting drunk, stoned or intoxicated on cocaine, to participate in sexual conduct at the trailer, and other dangerous conduct."

Jones claims the supervisors would often refer to him -- and other employees -- as "fags, pussies, bitches, slaves, dummies, retards and idiots."

Jones also claims one of his supervisors brought a gun to the set "several times" ... but it gets even crazier.

In the docs, Jones claims he watched his supervisors get drunk on tequila and engage in "throwing a knife at a target on set."

Jones claims he tried to report the alleged misconduct to one of the co-executive producers on the show -- but his cries for help were ignored ... and claims he was ultimately "blackballed" from future work on the show.

Jones claims he's become severely depressed and somehow suffered a physical injury as a result of the alleged incidents.

He's suing for more than $1,000,000 in damages. Universal -- which produces 'House M.D.' -- had no comment.

Cristina Talks: Alternate House & Cuddy Fanfic

By Cristina Hady

This is my idea for the fanfiction about an alternate House & Cuddy.

I would like to invite people who write fanfiction to join our project.
We can post it in our site, open a thread in the Fox Forum and in PPTH Forum and in other sites, if you have others.

I would like people could enjoy the teamwork and could understand the work behind a succesful TV show as House is. All them are usual to tell a story and all the followers comments. I don't remember to have ever seen a teamwork for a fanfiction. I'm curious to see the result!

I also noticed, sometimes, that very few writers are able to respect the original characters in the dialogues, very often they "exit" out of the character.

After some chapters done, to make people crazy, one day could appear a comment of GY in person (negative or positive, as the situation requires, but constructive for who maybe one day could think to became a writer) and/or some other accredited writers (just an idea!).

After this preamble, before to write the text, I would need to know how things works in the reality (hope you know and can tell me):

- which is the criteria wherewith the epi are assigned to one specific writer?

- Do they receive some guidelines to follow for the single epi (by who?) or they have generic guidelines to follow and write what they want? (I think to remember GY said one day that the writers write and DS choose the one he likes. But I don't remember if he was talking about the guidelines or the single episodes.)

Hope you like the idea and can... "Help me"!

Blind Item: Hit Show Throws a (shocking) wedding

By Michael Ausiello and Allen Patrick

In the mood for a blind item? Good, ’cause it’s a doozie! At the end of next season, a couple on a successful show we’re obsessed with will be getting hitched.
I know, I know — it doesn’t sound shocking. TV couples get married all the time.
But trust me when I say, um, it is a mind-blower. Why? Unfortunately, I can’t really say. If I did it would be too obvious about whom we are talking. However, I can offer you a few clues…

1. It’s a wedding I was pretty sure we would never see.
2. The bride and groom are heterosexual. (Hence, bride and groom.)
3. The network in question is either ABC, CBS, or Fox.
4. And there’s an important piece of this wedding that remains a mystery — even to me. (OK, that one may not be much of a clue. But it’s true!)
Mind you, it’s very early in the planning stages, so anything could happen. The story could be scrapped. On the other hand, all indications are that the nuptials have been approved by the higher-ups at the network.
So… for whom do the wedding bells toll? Guess away below!

Filming of one take of the Club scene of House 7x01, Thunder Roadtrip.

Filmed by whatsuplisae

Hugh Laurie is in the green/grey jacket, Lisa Edelstein is in the Pink sweater. You can also tell it's HL by the cane :). I couldn't get any closer with the flip. It sucks for zoom. There's also no sound because were were quite far away.

At the beginning of the video, watch the center-left. Hugh puts a coffee cup on the ground, then stands and starts to walk left when they yell ROLLING and then goes back to the center. When they yell action, he starts to walk left with Lisa on his arm and his cane in hand. If you still can't find him, let me know and I'll help point him out.

Cristina Talks: What Can I Say? I'm Addicted!

by Cristina Hady

As usual, I was watching the Italian version of House with my family. The epi. airing was "The Itch" 5x7 (directed by the very talented Greg Yaitanes and written by Peter Blake). As you can remember or have seen in the video, House was discussing his case then Cuddy arrives and they started to talk. My attention was captured by Cuddy's words when she said "That's why we kissed". With a big surprise I ask my fiance, "We kissed? When did they kiss!?" We saw the previous epi. -I added.- Well, maybe they were telling us but they didn't show that they did. - My mother in law joined our discussion saying: "Yes, they kissed in the previous epi. I've seen".

Guys, you can't understand what I felt in that moment. I awaited that kiss for FIVE SEASONS! And when they kissed, I missed it. UNBELIEVABLE.

When the epi. ended I started to search for it. I wasn't aware which epi. it was so I opened the Fox page, I read a lot of recaps to find "Joy" 5x6 (Directed by Deran Sarafian, Written by David Hoselton). I started searching and downloading every possible version! I jumped at the end and started watching that scene and the amazing, unforgettable KISS!

As like all of you, I've lost count of how many time I've watched it! I can say: LIMITLESS!

If you want, we would like to know how you became addicted. We will be happy to post the scene and your text.

Do talk!

So I'm adding a new page today for the fanfictions that I've stumbled upon.

The fanfic contains 8 chapters in which the beginning starts off with House surprising Cuddy on her birthday and where their relationship starts to unfold as well as their usual (and lots of) sexual tension, a bit of Rachel and how she learns who House is and how everybody else handles the idea of House and Cuddy as a couple.

'Edelstein Is The Moon To Laurie's Sun'

Looking through my Twitter page, there were many tweets that were either rooting for her or weren't satisfied with the Emmy choices of Ausiello. All in all, we all agree that Lisa Edelstein deserves an Emmy nomination. Looking at my Twitter page again, there was this particular article that was repeatedly retweeted by our LE fans. Hugh Laurie says 'Buckle Up' for Huddy

Hard as it is to imagine, next season on House, Doc Crankypants may be — gasp! — happy. At least happy-ish. In fact, in the premiere, we’ll see him smiling, laughing and canoodling on the beach with at-long-last lady love Cuddy. Clearly, this can only mean one thing: The relationship is doomed, right? “I don’t think [so], necessarily,” Hugh Laurie tells me. “But let’s face it, neither of these characters has a clean license.
“‘Buckle up,’” he adds, “would be my advice.”
Lisa Edelstein, who plays House’s significant other, shares her co-star’s trepidation. “I was terrified of saying ‘I love you,’” she admits. “But I think that in that final scene of season six, Cuddy makes that clear that she’s ready to go for it.”
Laurie is ready, too, weird as it may feel to him. “Even the appearance of happiness [in House] has taken some getting used to,” he says. “I had a week of happiness training before the season started up, and I’m whistling more than usual.”
Is his small-screen counterpart whistling more than he did, say, when he was with Sela Ward’s Stacy? “I’ve always thought of House as a romantic, and I don’t think romantics are much given to comparing,” Laurie demurs. “But speaking as a friend of House, he seems to be attracted to strong women. He likes to get as good as he gives — and I mean that in as many senses as are suitable for a family readership.”
Your thoughts? Can Huddy make it work? Or is the beginning of their romance the end ofHouse as we know (and love) it? Sound off below!

Funny Scenes - Many Women Learn How to Embrace the Parasite

From season one, episode four, Maternity.

She then asks House to test her husband to see if he is the father after a "mistake" with the ex-boyfriend. Later, the woman brings her husband along to the hospital, however instead of testing him for a paternity test she pretends that she has mono and her husband has to be tested as well to see if he has mono, allowing House to test his blood.
